the only rule
The only rule that ever mattered is God's rule. Everything else got invented by men who wanted you easy to manage.

The job you're supposed to want. The way you're supposed to look. The schedule, the mortgage, the version of normal that somebody decided for you before you were old enough to ask who decided it. None of that came from God. It came from people who benefit when you stop asking.
A man can carry a full-time job and a family and still know the difference. Looks ordinary from the outside. Doesn't have to look like much. It just has to be his, answering to what's actually true instead of what's just convenient for somebody else.

That's where this came from. Not chasing something new. Refusing to fold into something invented.
